We opened up a wall from the kitchen to the living area and widened the doorways. In the living room, we removed old dark wood paneling and built a custom solid wood entertainment center and A/V system including security cameras. We removed a fireplace that the family did not use and created a full wall of solid Mohgoany french doors opening up to the back yard. Outside we removed an old, low covered patio that had been tacked on and created one that was more substantial and allowed for more light into the living area. The family no longer used their swimming pool, so we filled in the pool and installed a large gas-powered fire pit that became the new focal point of their new flagstone patios and landscape design.
